The study aims to survey the views of Syrian citizens residing in the areas of Autonomous Administration on the most important constitutional principles, which they believe should be stipulated in Syria’s future constitution, which is being discussed during the meetings of the Constitutional Committee. The study mainly focus on the principles related to guaranteeing the freedoms and rights of individuals, the form of the governance system and administrative system, capacities of local authorities, in addition to the principles regulating the judiciary, security forces, the army, political parties and civil society organizations. The study also aims to know the views of citizens on issues related to women.
The study was conducted during October and November 2021.
The study was conducted in the areas of northeastern Syria which are under the control of the Autonomous Administration, which included both the governorates ofAl-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zur, and in the governorate of Deir ez-Zur, it covered the northern, western and eastern countryside. The study has taken into account the population in each of those areas, accordingly, there was a difference between the numbers of questionnaires collected in those ( Raqqa 215 / Eastern Deir ez-Zur countryside 185 / Western Deir ez-Zur countryside 150 / Northern Deir ez-Zur countryside 100 )
